About us

Recovery, close to home

My Next Steps of Morganton is a full-service, outpatient addiction recovery practice serving Morganton, North Carolina and the surrounding community — built around treating the whole person, not just a symptom.

Our story

My Next Steps of Morganton was founded to meet a need our community was facing: too many people struggling with addiction and mental health challenges without a clear, accessible place to turn for help. That need is personal as well as professional for our founder, who has watched a family member face these same struggles for years — an experience that shapes how this practice treats every person who walks through our doors: not as a diagnosis, but as someone's son, daughter, parent, or friend who deserves a real chance at recovery.

Overcoming addiction is a personal journey, and for many individuals, underlying mental health concerns play an important role in both the development of addiction and the recovery process. At My Next Steps of Morganton, we believe successful recovery involves addressing the whole person by integrating mental health services, counseling, and evidence-based addiction treatment.

Our approach recognizes that addiction impacts more than physical health. Recovery requires attention to each individual's emotional, mental, and physical well-being — building healthier coping skills, strengthening resilience, and working toward long-term stability.

Addiction affects not only individuals but also families, relationships, and communities. Our program emphasizes healing and support beyond the individual, helping patients rebuild connections and access resources that promote lasting wellness — including support for co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.

Our support doesn't end when active treatment does. We remain committed to helping individuals continue their recovery journey by connecting them with community resources for needs such as housing, employment, transportation, and food security.

Our mission

To provide professional, effective, and compassionate Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services to anyone in our community facing addiction or mental health challenges — meeting each patient with clinical excellence and a genuinely personal touch.

Our vision

To be the community's trusted next step for addiction and mental health recovery — a place where evidence-based treatment and real human connection work together, where stigma has no place, and where every patient and family can find a helping hand.

Our core values

Professionalism

We hold ourselves to the clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards our patients and their families depend on, in every interaction and every record.

Patient-centered care

Every treatment decision starts with the person in front of us — their history, their goals, and their pace of recovery.

Effectiveness

We use evidence-based IOP and MAT practices and track outcomes honestly, because recovery is too important for guesswork.

A helping hand

We meet people where they are, without judgment, and treat every patient the way we would want a family member treated.

Personal touch, clinical rigor

Warmth and professionalism are not in tension here. Patients should feel genuinely cared for by a team that is also clinically exacting.
